Funding The Center for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine has received $10.9 million from the State of Ohio's Wright Capital Fund and $8.6 million from the State of Ohio's Biomedical Research and Technology Transfer (BRTT) Fund. In 2006, the State of Ohio's Biomedical Research and Commercialization Plan (BRCP) invested another $8 million in the Center. In 2009, $5 million was awarded to CSCRM from the State of Ohio's Third Frontier Research Commercialization Program. Over the next two years, these RCP funds will provide three $50,000 grants annually to promote new projects in stem cell research. The remaining $50,000 per year will be divided equally and awarded to the technology transfer offices at CWRU, UHCMC and CC to accelerate promising technologies submitted to them and needing additional data. In addition to providing seed money for new research ideas, priority will be given to projects that bring new researchers into the stem cell arena or provide funding to researchers not currently receiving CSCRM research support. Projects must have a clinical and/or commercial direction though it may be more rudimentary than for a fully developed project. The Center for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine (CSCRM) is now accepting proposals for funding of Stem Cell-related Pilot Projects (SCPP) for the period from February 1, 2010 – January 31, 2011. Deadline is November 23rd. Click here to download RFP and click here to download the Excel Budget Page. |
