Donations:

The Center for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine (CSCRM) was established with funding provided by the State of Ohio’s Third Frontier Program.  These dollars have been invested to administer, build infrastructure and conduct stem cell research to develop therapies for diseases such as cancer, heart disease, bone repair and neural degenerative diseases.  Many of our members also receive funding from the NIH and disease specific foundations, like American Heart Association or American Cancer Society, to support their current work.  What has been missing is a link to you where you can choose what type of stem cell research you want to support

There have been large donations in support of stem cell research at a number of institutions.  Weill Cornell Medical College, in New York City, has established the Ansary Center for Stem Cell Therapeutics with a $15 million grant from philanthropists Shahla and Hushang Ansary.  An anonymous donor gave Johns Hopkins University a $58.5 million gift to launch an Institute for Cell Engineering. A grateful patient pledged $25 million over the next 10 years to finance stem-cell research at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.  Here in Ohio we would be very excited to receive donations of this magnitude but also can effectively apply smaller donations from individuals and families concerned with the advancement of stem cell research.

For this reason, we have created this on-line opportunity (credit card via secure PayPal) for donations to benefit a specific type of stem cell research. Of course, traditional donations are also accepted. 100% of the funds will benefit research and your gift will only be used for your chosen target area.  Once sufficient funds have been received in any of the categories, projects will be selected by the Executive Committee and Research Leadership Committee and funds made available to the researcher or clinician.  Donations, which are tax-deductible, will flow through Case Western Reserve University because CSCRM is administered through this institution and because it qualifies donors to claim a tax deduction. Please note the project donation can contribute to any of the CSCRM institution programs.  Confirmatory documentation will be mailed to you once the donation is processed.

Please consider donating to stem cell research for a lasting gift to aid people now and into the future for debilitating diseases.
